No she doesn't. That is her choice to use premium. All she has the right to expect is reimbursement at the IRS rate. |
It doesnt matter if she puts premium in! Even if she is in a Hummer getting 10 miles to the gallon, she'd be reimbursed over $5 for that gallon of gas. IRS reimbursement is more than fair for gas /plus/ wear and tear. |
I hope you're a troll because I can't imagine you could be a nanny and be so stupid. |
yes it is, and you can bet the IRS won't lower it now that crude is going to $50-70 a barrel, down from $90-100 when the $0.56 was last set! Woo hoo, arbitrage opportunity! |
hahahhaha. nannies like you are so easy to spot. and so unemployable. your poor attitude alone would drive even my children nuts. |
I'm that poster being accused of being a horrible employer. Thx for coming to my defense! Luckily my amazing nanny of five years, who could get a job with another family easily, must have found some redeeming value in working for me. |
MB here. I give my nanny $25 flat each week for gas money. She was used to getting 20 in her last job but when she started gas was pretty high . If i sit here and nickle and dime her on IRS rates it will be more of a headache for me and i think build resentment with her. She takes my son out for various activities each day every day so I feel that's a fair amount. I know other nannies who dont get reimbursed at all so it's up to you. I just can sleep better at night knowing that even though I'm paying her a great rate, I'm not putting her out on the wear and tear on her car with a messy 2 year old. |
For 5-10 miles I'd just give her $5 a week or $20 every four weeks. Once the kiddos start needing to go farther - for sports, parties, etc. - consider $10 or $20. You shouldn't feel taken advantage of and neither should she.
But we live in a neighborhood where they walk to the parks, classes and preschools if they have the 10 minutes to spare and the weather is nice. |
Nice try, nanny troll. |
LOL. I posted this. I'm not a nanny. these boards are so crazy. |
Premium gas is a waste of money in a Camry so the nanny is better off having that and the heater function clarified. The appropriate reimbursement is the IRS rate. Before we purchased a nanny vehicle, the nanny would write down her odometer readings in the morning when she parked at our house and in the evening before she left. At the end of the week, she would hand me the numbers, I would do the calculations and hand her a check on Monday. |
