I do this but I make sure my hands are clean. People do wash their hands multiple times a day. As he gets older her hands will touch his toys which he will put in his mouth same thing. This would only be an issue if she was just cleaning and didn't wash her hands.
Most nannies have such dry hands from so much hand washing that I doubt this is a peoblem |

Newborns need to suck. My pediatrician also recommended fingers over pacis in the beginning. The baby will not get sick from the germs unless the nanny is sick.
|
| oooh boy. babies sucking on fingers is SO not a big deal OP. |
| I'm a nanny and the newborn will ONLY suck on fingers, never pacifiers. We all keep our nails short and wash our hands before taking over the baby duty, but she sucks on my fingers as well as MB's, DB's, and grandma's... It's very common, but if it makes you unfomrotable tell her. Be warned, though, that if that is the only way your baby can be soothed at night your alternative is lots of crying and possibly a quitting nanny. |
X1000 wish see op's face when the baby starts gnawing on the nanny's jawbone, or leg, or arm or any other semi solid body part a teething baby can get into her mouth. Chill out, OP. Some day your child will likely do something much Mapuche grosser. |
| You are absurd, OP. Find a problem. |
| I got a hickey from babies in the past because they latched on while I was holding them and by the time I got them to unlatch my chin had bruises. My bosses always laughed and joked about it. It's not a big deal op lighten up or buy your baby a bubble to live in |
Are you kidding? Seriously, you have to be joking. Your baby will put shit waaaaaaaaaayyyy worse than this in it's mouth. Settle down or you will not only lose friends, nannies, and quite possibly your mind (I think that may be a lost cause though, considering this thread). |
| If that is your biggest complaint about your nanny OP, then you have struck gold in the nanny dept. |
| I just think anyone sucking on fingers is disgusting, whether it be a baby or three years old. EW. |
Have her wash her hands first (and regularly) and it's fine. This is how children build up their immune systems. Also by playing in dirt and and touching things when they start to get older. If you always have everything totally sterile and don't let them do things like this, then they will end up with sucky immune systems that can't handle anything and will be sick all the time. |
Bubble wrap isn't for kids. If this bothers you enough to post about it you are in for a very long haul. |
Princess Diana did that too |
With her OWN child. |
Time to put that baby in a bubble then. Cuz that baby is going to be inundated with germs throughout his life. And if you hired a professional I bet her hands are cleaner than yours. You seriously need to relax and realize that germs help build your baby's immunity system. Of course keep your baby away from any germs that can cause illness. But you have lost your mind and parenting a baby is going to be extremely stressful for you...and stressful for those around you. Wait until your baby crawls and you see him licking the floor. Your baby will survive that too. |
