Oh man. Some of you people are effing morons. I sincerely hope you are a bored group of trolls and not anyone who actually deals with children, AT ALL.

Discipline is defined as" Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement". It is not specifically referring only as physical punishment. You can discipline without using physical harm. Go back to church and have a discussion with your priest, minister, rabbi before you start throwing bible verses you know nothing about, then pick up a few books one child development and positive discipline

Discipline can come in all forms, I don't need man to tell me what to do especially you. This is my post so if you don't like it you don't have to reply. There is nothing wrong with spanking as long as you discipline correctly. I don't have any kids but if I did I would deal with him or her accordingly. Take your own advice

No troll here, caring for your employers children is a big difference then taking care of your own or family. Like I suggested before if you don't like a post don't comment. I do it all the time besides it must not be so boring it got you to post.

It's not that it's "boring," it's that you're ignorant. That's why we respond - so when people read this thread they will know that the community condemns your belief in the importance of corporal punishment. Skilled caregivers, which a nanny should be, know there is never a need for it.

Also, as several people pointed out, your understanding of the biblical ideal discipline is seriously flawed.
