Considering the standard to subtract from gross wages is 40% for room and board, and the woman you interviewed was planning to withhold 52.5 - 62%, she's a kook.
The 40% standard is based on what the State Department established for Au Pairs. |

I agree...She put out a very misleading childcare ad and if I were in your shoes, I would have been very peeved because she truly wasted your time by going out to meet w/her.
She should have specifically stated in her ad that she was looking for a live-in nanny since that is what she obviously prefers. I also wonder why she waited until you got to her house before she explained the salary package more in depth w/you. Had she spoken w/you about it more in length on the telephone, it could have saved you a trip. Too bad nannies cannot write reviews on parents on Care.com./ If only you could warn other nannies about this woman. Unfortunately now, there will be other nannies who will have to waste their time and gas and find out they got scammed just because Care.com does not allow nannies to write reviews on the parents who post jobs. |

| I mean seriously are the nanny quarters a mansion? For the amount that she "added" into the salary package for the cost of rent, it better be lined in gold! |
You thought you were going to have an apartment paid for AND $20 / $25 per hour? LMAOOO!! Glad you came off cloud 9 and back into reality. |
| Another family thinking they're entitled to cheap child care. |
Actually no, if you read my post from the beginning...you will see that I have my own home to pay for!

Imagine that. How dare a nanny own her own place. |
