how to tell boss I won't pet sit over the summer?

I have to say I'm really irritated , realizing how much Ive been taken advantage of by friends with dog and cat sitting for the past 2 to 3 years. Maybe everyone can verify with me that this is true they have simply taken advantage of my friendship by under paying me and givng me little extra duties. They have two dogs and a cat , I stay over night feed and walk them TWICE a day and do extra little things like make sure the maid gets her check ,bring the garbage cans out to the street for pickup garbage day, run over there when one of the animals sets off the alarm to make sure everything is alright,dropping the fact I have to run home from work and feed my cat etc.. Im expected to be ther when things like this go wrong ,dropping whatever after I get a phone call and they want me to check on the house. The were recently gone 6 nights and 7 days I never got paid for the friday evn I went over walked and fed them OR Thursday day walking an feeding,she never has paid me for the days she leaves or they are coming back regardless if I spend time with them and walk and feed them ,she gave me a check for $300.00 for 6 nights and 7 days ,she simply paid me 50m bucks to stay over six nights,50 a night for two dogs and a cat! Its not that far but gas adds up she also doesnt pay for gas back and forth! I feel ripped off by them and taken advantage of,she would NEVER get someone to do it for that price through a professional service . I checked on line and the rates here in Dallas she would have paid at least a total of 550 and some places 150 a night!~

From how you are describing this MB it doesn't sounds like that will be possible but why do you want to keep this job anyway if she is so awful? My suggestion would be to look for another job and have one lined up before you tell her.

I don't know where you guys live where pet sitting would be $150/night. I live in the Bay area and a petsitter is somewhere between $50-$75 a day here.

Agree with PP. Here in DC, I pay $50/day for pet care for two cats and a dog. This includes 2 walks/day and overnight care.
