Oh yea to answer the statement that I'm negative because it saves you money..I think that using someone to benefit yourself when the person is less fortunate is in itself a negative and being jealous..how did you come about that..
If I'm driving my vehicle and being taken advantage of..why would I be jealous..angry yes..disappointed in people you work for yes... The only way I would have cause to be jealous is if they gave me a really nice car to drive their kids around..probably So then explain why I would have cause to be jealous |

People say that alot irs mileage..
I don't think they thought of NANNIES car or it would be much higher |

I'm a nanny and prefer driving my own car. I know how it handles, and completely comfortable with it. I don't have to worry if it gets scratched or anything like that. I have my own car seats, I know the history of the seats, I register my seats so if there is a recall I know about it and can handle it and get the issue fixed,I know how to use them properly, how to install them correctly, Before I pm Jim I want to make a FB status and see if he says anything. What should I write. I'm thinking along the lines that it doesn't matter how long you kniw someone or how close you were people grow apart etcknow the height and weight limits so know if it's outgrown, I can have the my car my rules which means all occupants will rf until 2 at a minimum but as close to 4 as possible (my seats will get almost all children to 3/4 rf, kids will be harnessed until 6 and mature enough to move to a booster, kids will remain in a booster until they pass the 5 step test to get out of one, also my installs are checked regularly my a cpst. As for insurance I have a Ryder on my insurance plan, this is reimbursed by my employer. My employers pay to have my car detailed twice a year. I don't allow food or drinks in my car and remove dirty shoes, clothes before putting the kids in the car so I rarely need it detailed. I also get a gas stipend plus the IRS rate.
Not all famines are able to purchase an extra car or leave one for the nanny to use. In my area it's rare to find a job that doesn't require the nanny to have their own vehicle. |
I haven't heard of an employer in ANY industry paying for the payments and insurance on an employee's personal car. This is delusional. |
|
You misunderstood or I did not clarify clearly..
Car payment + insurance + gas Is what employers would pay should they provide a nanny car compare to gas mileage using the Nanny own vehicle |
Sorry. I misunderstood. |
This doesn't make any sense! The nanny's car payment is $250 whether she drives the children or not!! Same for the insurance. Why should parents pay the nanny for HER car that she'd have regardless of her job? Just because you want extra money? Life doesn't work that way. Parents should pay for gas and wear and tear. I think it's also nice if they pay to have it cleaned every now and then but that's it. And by the way, I DO provide a car for the nanny but every single nanny I've ever interviewed volunteered that they could put car seats in their car before I had told them we would provide a car. |
|
Well great for you. It usually takes something happening to wise up all those nannies who volunteer their cars, which mind you is probably one of the biggest assets..tell me how depreciating their asset is in their best interest for gas money and for the Nanny who wrote about all the things she has done to ensure safety..my question is why?
If it was the employer car they would have to make sure the car is safe with sufficient coverage, seats are up to standards and installed properly.. You employers even convince yourselves that you are doing a favor by paying irs rates... Please excuse me for calling you out on that... I posted the five reasons ...I see not one of you commented on why it is in nannies best interest to drive a nanny car.. So excuse me if I don't allow you to use me. |
You sound like a peach. |
|
I wrote the five reasons and I did it for NANNIES..You can accept or disregard what I wrote but I need you to really think about it.
Ask yourself if you carry basic insurance who pays to fix your car. Who pays your deductible in case of repairs from an accident claim. How will you purchase another vehicle if your circumstances Isn't great at the moment. Would employers go after your insurance if kids get hurt If the insurance is in your husband name should he be liable also. Most of us nannies use our cars to drive to and from work Monday to Friday's. We work sometimes 10 plus hrs. Those are 10 hrs a day your car is relatively safe. Now factor in driving kids all over the place through local roads. Kids sometimes are very distracting. Road conditions during the day are more hazardous..estimate your likelihood of increasing your chances of an accident using your car during those 10 hrs. Also you can learn to drive any nanny car just like you learned to drive yours. All I am saying is think about it. It does not benefit you to drive your car but it benefits your employer a heck of alot. I never said they have to make your car payments or insurance..but they should at least contribute...not just for irs mileage. I think the irs mileage is good for people using their vehicle to transport or go around looking at jobs. But it is not good for the kind of wear and tear of 2 or 3 children or the kind of liability involve if they get hurt.. So if I can make 1 nanny pause and think this was worth it. If I made the OP think and she thought about contributing a little to nanny insurance.. Then that would be great |
How many accidents do you plan on getting into? All of your posts seems fixated on your liability if one of your charges is hurt. I would think your main concern would be keeping the kids safe in the first place which has nothing to do with whether the employers are supplying a car or the nanny is driving her own car. If one of the kids is seriously hurt, the last thing on my mind would which insurance company is going to end up paying the expenses. |
|
Never had an accident but knew at least three nannies who had those things happen and like I said the NANNIES can take it or leave it but they need to know.
Now if you mb's cannot disprove the five reasons I gave for the advantages for driving a nanny car then you really have nothing to say to me. Bottom line is you are using the Nanny by helping depreciate an asset of hers to save you money and you KNOW it. And I always think of liability so do YOU with car insurance for an accident house insurance in case of fire, flood insurance and life insurance ...plus when nanny drives your car you add her on your insurance...why? Shit happens and one of my friends insurance paid her employers $40,000..their take was it wasn't' t her they were suing but her insurance. Well it was her name on the legal document. So don't you dare comment...purchase everything needed to care for your kids and leave the Nanny possessions alone. |
| "Shit happens and one of my friends insurance paid her employers $40,000." So your friend caused an accident that injured the children and her insurance company had pay 40K in damages? |
| Um ... if you're driving and you have an accident, your insurance is still primary no matter who own the car. You, as a driver, also still have legal liability for any damage/injury you cause. Your employers may also be liable because you were driving for work, but if any points are assessed, they will go to the driver, not to the employer. |
|
Really ...that's the question you are going to ask? Not why her shifty employers made money off her generosity by not having them have the expense of a third car..which of you out there have never had an accident or known someone ..relative or friend who did.
Here's the story, since you need a reason why she got taken for a ride. She was at a stop sign. A car was approaching in the distance. She thought she had ample time being the street is 25 mph zone. So she made the turn. The person was going 47mph and hit her by her left back wheel. Kids 4 and 2 were taken to the hospital with minor bumps and scrap because the glass back window shattered. The vehicle that hit her had no insurance...a lapse of 4 months..police gave her wrong because of stop sign even if the other vehicle had speed and no insurance. The person was arrested later went to court for no insurance but she was at fault since she had the stop sign. Her insurance was sued by employers for children. Now tell me did that help in ANYWAY... So she was out of a car. Her car was totalled. She was also hurt by her curtain airbag being deployed and got double screwed by her employers. NOW IF HER CAR WAS SAFELY PARKED IN THEIR DRIVEWAY AND SHE WAS DRIVING THEIR VEHICLE TO THE PARK..IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THEM. THEIR VEHICLE TOTALLED. THEY WOULD HAVE TO DECIDE WHETHER TO FILE A CLAIM AGAINST THEIR INSURANCE ON BEHALF OF THEIR CHILDREN. You know what I'm done ....because people who exploit others for their gain fight to the end to keep doing it. |
