"We've had to take time off to cover her absences and pay for temporary child care..." What you say is a great wage is your opinion of course. So that's a moot point. And the fact that you're bragging about paying overtime just baffles me as this is required by law, not a job perk. So which is it? You take time off when she's absent or you pay for temp child care? You seem to be putting all you can out there to sound like a martyr and something about your post as a whole just wreaks of exaggeration. |
I wouldn't pay it at all.. She knew she was gonna quit when she called out. She did it in bad faith, do NOT pay it please. |
Dont pay it. She costed you more in 3 weeks then a true, professional nanny would cost in the 7 months you would've needed them. She'll prob bail as soon as she gets her paycheck. I wouldn't pay. |
Pay it. It's not even worth thinking about. As everyone else has said, put together a contract next time, and make vacation/sick leave accrue.
I paid out 3 weeks of vacation to a nanny who promptly quit (I gave it all upfront for my first nanny). Learned an expensive lesson there. |
