I work 55 hours a week at $22 an hour plus overtime. Completely possible and these rates are reasonable in different parts of the country. Boston nannies make an average between $20 -24 in a nanny share. |
| 2100/month and I work 30 hours/week |
Why are you paid so little?
|
Why? I live in Rhode Island and watch 3 kids and take home $875/week. If I were to move to Boston and take a similar job, I'd make over $1,000/week. |
| I make $1450 a week and work 45 hours a week. I've got about $500 in student loans, car is paid off, and I live rent free with my long term boyfriend. All other living expenses is around $700 a month with random bills and groceries. |
I'm the first poster with the 1000 take home. I don't know why you wouldn't believe some people make that much. I live in Los Angeles not sure if that is average for this area but for me it is. |
| i make about $3k/month (before taxes, where i lose a ton)..i split rent with my long-term DB. My half of rent is about half of my take home $..after car payment, food, etc..I don't have much left. DB makes more than twice what I do, so he pays the utilities. If I went halfsies on utilities, too, I'd be completely broke. |
| I nanny in the Bay Area (California) and my take-home is about $39k a year. I gross about $47k, but I work a lot of overtime and income taxes are insane. |
your db? |
oops i mean dear boyfriend by DB not dad boss
|
| About $2500 to $3000 a month depending on how much I sit in my off hours. Live with parents so technically don't have rent expenses but give $500 a month to help out. Car finally paid off. $300 for cc payment, $100 for cell, $400 for gas, $150 car and life insurance, $250 food, save $250, and around $100 for miscellaneous. |
| Usually about $500/wk, about 52 hours. |
This is me so I guess I can give you a break down No main utilities (included in rent) Rent $900 Cable/internet $120 Cell $100 Car $350 Insurance $90 for 10 months with two months free. Cc varies I pay them off each month normally $ 50-75. No other debt. Goes to savings or fun. |
|
I'm also in the Bay area-
I take home $1150/week for my regular salary. I often work a few hours extra, so it's usually a little higher than that. I live by myself in a 1 bedroom apartment and rent is $1650/month. Most utilities are included, but I pay for a few other things. I have a few other bills- cell phone, health insurance (NF pays for 1/2), car insurance, etc. The rest goes to savings/investments. |
Why is this so hard to believe. 50 hours a week (normal nanny work hours) times $20/hr is $1000/week. Not that hard to believe when you think about it that way. |
