OP I would be worried if I were you. When we were interviewing nannies. We found one candidate that seemed great and her rate was acceptable. ($17 for 2 kids). Once we called her references her currently family told us that they hired her at $17 and six months later she asked for a substantial raise. When they told her they would evaluate after a year, she began to complain all the time. And, due to her attitude and constant tardiness they gave her two weeks to find another job.
Obviously, we did not hire her. But, you never know what people are thinking in regards to salary desires.
