If I were in your place I would have quit on the spot, but I have savings. I totally understand your reason for leaving and would give two weeks notice as soon as you have a new position lined up.

THIS.

Technically you agreed to work that day, but requesting a day off - particularly a day which is a national holiday - is allowed. The fact that your MB threatened your position says it all. Quit ASAP, OP, and never look back.

If they can't give me one day off, I can't work for them any days. I'm so sick and tired of bad employers who feel they are entitled to everything. I'm not your fucking slave.

People wonder why we nannies quit. Look in the mirror.

Maybe their personal issue is that their marriage is on the brink and they need a day to reconnect as a couple. You shouldn't care why they need you to work. Whether it's a minor out-patient surgery or to go shopping, it's none of your business. Look at our economy - you should be down on your knees thanking your lucky stars you have a job.

It's people like you that disgust me. If they have issues within their marriage, that is there problem, not mine. How is a nannys problem if parent's are getting a divorce? Shopping isn't working so therefore I should care. It's a little thing called respect. Apparently you don't have any. I would hate to be the nanny that works for you.

You AGREED to certain days off upon accepting the job. Now you want more days off and are upset they said no. Sorry kid, unacceptable. Parents hire nannies for all different reasons, not just because they have to work. It's not your place to decide they don't need you on a day that you agreed you would work.

Let me clarify, I WAS NOT SUPPOSE TO WORK NEW YEARS DAY. My MB told me last Friday that they need me because she had important work issues to handle. I didn't want to leave her out in the cold so I out aside my plans for her. I found out yesterday she doesn't have anything work related. DB is going to play golf and MB is going to a spa with friends that are in town.

Thing that really pisses me off is employers are always talking about how nannies need to be 100% truthful and when a nanny lies, people tell them to immediately fire. When MB or DB does something wrong or isn't truthful, people on this board say to " suck it up" and " it's your problem."

I do too much for them and don't deserve to be lied to. Make me suspicious of what else they may have lied about. Anyways, I told them tomorrow will be my last day. MB tried to apologize and reason with me but I told her if roles were reversed, I'd be fired in a heartbeat for lying.

Haters and bad employers can suck it. I dedicate my life to be the best nanny I can and will not return because grown people are so bored or hate themselves, they feel the need to write disgusting comments and put people down. I hope you grow a heart( and get off your lazy butts and be the maid and primary caregiver). So many parents take advantage of having a nanny because they can't raise their own damn kids. Keep off your back if you can't handle taking care of your own. Plain and simple. Enough said!

I can quit on the spot because I have a lot saved up. I already have 3 interviews schedule for the weekend.

Hey, OP, you need to work on your trolling skills. Wildly changing your story with each post outs you as the fraud you are.

Agreed. And why ask what you should do/would you be fired over that? You say you have a lot of money saved up and already have 3 interviews lined up for next week....so what do you need advice on? Trolls are becoming rampant on this forum.

You can't tell what I post. It's anonymous.

So then some of the people pretending to be the OP aren't actually the OP?

Really, this. It would be one thing if she simply said that you could not have the day off. But to threaten your job seems gratuitously mean. Not a person I would want to work for.

You could offer an entire workshop on "how to troll like a pro". Lol.

Ha! Well played. PP.

I probably could give a workshop. I'm very good at spotting trolls, though I don't always call them out.

I'm no " troll" so you aren't good at anything. Stop inflating your own ego and feeling self important on some damn board. Grow up woman.
