What do parents look for in a nanny RSS feed

16:09 here. Saw this thread had popped up but didn't expect to see these reactions to what I posted.

Kind of hilarious actually. I have no idea why you would assume I pay poorly based on my answer to OPs question. I am sure you all have a similar list of criteria to look for in an ideal employer.

FWIW, I pay pretty much right in the middle of all the rates quoted here frequently, and I offer extremely competitive benefits. I also hold myself to the same standards of respect, honesty, calmness etc... that I look for in a nanny. I think all of that is the reason that we've only had one nanny for several years (and she came to us with 15 years of nannying experience so she's no rookie.) Obviously we're doing something right or she would have left.

Frankly, I'll take OP's seemingly genuine interest in learning more about how parents think over the silly assumptions made by other responders any day. OP would earn the job with me, and I would hopefully earn her trust and respect in return. All of those things go both ways.

Now i wonder what parents really look for when they want a nanny.
Completely honest, none of the interview stuff.
I would love to hear/read some parents.

No offense, but as a 26 yr old with a degree, when writing anything, you should always capitalize your I's.

Just sayin'.......

Seriously? This is an Internet forum, not a job app.

Just saying. (Maybe you should use less slang!)
