Let's not forget about the free room and board . . . |
That they pay for with their labor you mean? And how valuable really is living with your boss at work. Its not a walk in the park. And they *should* get the same OT as everyone else, given their wages are ALREADY reduced. Also, when I was a live in, it was just the room, no "board". |
They didn't provide you with any meals? "Board" refers to the table on which food is served. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Room_and_board |
I know what board means thanks. No they didn't. I did my own grocery shopping and had my own fridge and kitchenette. |
I charge extra if they need me to live-in. It's not my preference. |
I agree that it makes no sense that live in nannies do not need to be paid OT in some states. But it is still a fact that it is the law in those places. |
Well the law says you don't have to, but that doesn't mean you can't if you believe that is what's right. |
OP you should google and research because you never get legit answers on DCUM. I heard somewhere that it wasn't required that live ins get overtime however, I don't know if that's true or not so get real answers by researching. |
after 40 hours time and a half, many parents cheat nannies |
