| My 16 month old sometimes calls DH "mama" even though he knows he's "daddy." At that age they are still learning how to refer to everyone correctly. It doesn't mean the baby actually thinks your his mommy. |

OP, you NEED to discourage him from calling you "Mama." I know you don't want to discourage him from speaking, but you have an obligation to this child as well as his mother to correct him.
Next time he calls you "Mama," correct him and say, "No Honey, Mama is your Mama...but I am _______ " and then repeat that over and over. |
