I need a backup nanny to be "on call" from 1pm to 9:15pm 3 days a week, and the occasional weekend (noon-9:15ish). Mirage (my 2 year old daughter) should be asleep/napping upon your arrival, and should sleep until 4pm or 5pm. |
| I agree with the nanny 100%. She is not rude. She is just telling you what is just and right. |
|
I am a nanny and believe OP is not a troll!
OP, I think the nanny's response was very nice given your ad. You should definitely NOT write a poor review or report her. What you are offering is illegal, YOU should be reported. |
|
OP, you are just clueless and this nanny is the one who has her shit together.
You want her to be "on-call" meaning she cannot accept any other jobs during certain days/time frames just in case you need her to work? Well then if that is the case, you need to pay her for her time whether she works for you or not. Duh. Also, you are offering to pay her less than minimum wage which is illegal and immoral. Not to mention very shady. You say your two yr. old is basically self-sufficient and all because she plays on her own and does the cleaning. BS!! I say, this nanny is 120% in the right. If you post a negative review of her, you are just stupid. Nannies should be able to warn other nannies of stupid parents like you who are so damn clueless on hiring people to care for their most precious children. How dare you put your children in extreme danger by offering such a low rate? You put them in danger because you are catering to child molesters, abusers, killers, etc. |
| OP you're cheap and can't afford the luxury of a true, professional nanny. Your kids are daycare worthy, not nanny worthy. |
| Troll or not, most families on care.com and sittercity are cheapasses. They don't want to even pay an agency. |
Worthiness has nothing to do with anything. Choose your words more wisely. All children are "worthy" of the best care possible, but financial realities mean we have to make choices. |
Why did you have a child when you can't afford to take care of the child? |
|
Not all families pay poorly on care.com and sittercity.
I have found 2FT families paying well. I have also found several side positions paying well. My advice to nannies seeking a position don't waste your time or the families if they are not paying what you are seeking. |
Wtf are you talking about? I'm a nanny. I'm just pointing out how the word "worthy" is completely inappropriate here. Do you honestly believe the amount of money parents have determines the worth of a child?? What does that say about a nanny's child? Single mom? Poor? Money does not determine worth. |
That's a silly comment. Of course care is cheaper than going through an agency. Agencies cost thousands of dollars. |
