Am I being paranoid? RSS feed

OP this 'dream nanny' is selling you a false dream. Anyone can say anything to make themselves look good in hopes that the parent doesn't look into it. The t only thing this nanny has to offer you is her word. You can't trust the word of a stranger who can't prove what she is saying.

Look at Jodi Arias.. Convincing and sweet to the naked eye but upon further scrutiny, she's an evil, cold, pathological lying, cruel murderer.

You could always start one!

She might be fine. But, she also might not be fine. There is no reason for her to balk at a background check. Likewise, if she has special degrees or certifications, she should be eager to get you documentation (it cannot be that hard to do).

So, maybe you lost a perfectly good nanny who had offers from people with fewer hoops. But if so, there are other nannies who will not find these requirements unreasonable, and who will be "bothered" to do other ordinary, necessary, and helpful things. You might as well hold out for the right fit.

Dodged a bullet is right.

Thank your lucky stars OP that your child never spent a minute alone in this woman's company!!!!

This woman was obviously hiding something and it scares me to think that she is out there seeking another family to work for who may not be as careful as you were.
