That's how much the car temperature rises when it is 90 degrees outside. 109 degrees in 10 minutes, 119 degrees in 20 minutes. 124 degrees in 30 minutes. 133 degrees in 60 minutes. 138 degrees in 90 minutes.

Next time, call the police.

Where was it 90 degrees outside yesterday?

I have a really hard time believing this is true. For starters, you'd have to be brain dead to leave a child screaming in a car while you stood outside and watched. Anyone with half a brain would call the police. But besides that, if this were really true and this poster is just that stupid why didn't anyone else notice and call the police? Parents have gone to jail for leaving their children in a car when they were standing near by, everyone knows if you see a child left alone in a car you call the police.

so ooooo... what did the nanny say to you when she came out of the store and saw you standing there " watching the screaming child".
Anonymous
If this was real, I'd know it.

Because any real nanny would have known to call the police.
Anonymous
You are JUST as guilty as the nanny. I can't believe you stood around and let it happen.

Good point, you must have waited till nanny came back to ensure child's safety, sooooooo what did you say then???

I don't know if this is a troll or not but I can see it happening as I've seen it happening way too many times. Not at grocery store in particular but at school parking lots, outside pharmacy...... I used to work for a lady that admitted leaving younger one home sleeping nap time alone, to go get older on in school. WHAAAAT??? Infortunately these things happen more often than we imagine and people are oblivious to what could happen "but it's only a minute!!"

You should have called the police OP. Immediately. Considering how hot it is now in D.C.

Anyway, tell the family NOW.
A young child can die within minutes and this nanny put this child in mortal danger.
So who cares if they think you are a disgruntled nanny?? A child's life is at stake here.

This lady should stay the hell away from children in my opinion.

I didn't. The link given was an example. Yesterday it was in the mid 80s, today it is 90.

Either this isn't real or you both are so unbelievably stupid that neither of you should ever care for a child and your mutual boss should no longer choose caregivers!!

20 mins could be fatal in today's temps- were you waiting for the child to seize/die?

If this happened- you would have taken pics/video on your phone for proof.

Personally I would have called the cops immediately to give them time to respond even if she were only gone 5 mins. I would have also asked 911 if window should be broken to get child out. I would have called the parents after the cops.

OP here- we are in australia. it was a cooler morning as we are getting into winter time.

I told a friend who knows the host family and it was reported to them.

Leaving a child in a cold car is just as awful, OP. You didn't do the right thing.

You are also a troll not an Australian.
