17:22 here.... The Wellington Agency. April & Ilyse are amazing and they always have great jobs opening up. |
| Love that agency! But the jobs are usually not that high paying. |
|
I make $85,000 for 24hr M-F in NYC. The weekend nanny makes $50,000 for 24hr Friday night to Monday morning. We both feel grossly underpaid. But we are having a hard time bringing this delicate subject up to boss. I could make the same salary easily working 50-60hr week. I feel like an idiot for taking this job. But I accepted it when the agency said I would be paid around $100,000 plus a huge Christmas bonus. But after I excepted it, the agency told me they were only paying $85,000...and of course I didn't get a dime for a bonus.
I think my (first time nanny employer) boss thinks that a live-in job is the same as a 24hr nanny. So when she saw that I was making $75,000 at my other live in job ( it was 50hrs, and I lived in 7 days a week), she must of felt generous with the $85,000 salary. I have to rent an apartment, just to stay there on the weekends. How do you think I can enlighten my boss? |
I think they are. All the ones I see are $1,200/week minimum. |
| $62,000 ($1200) for a 24hr nanny is deplorable! That is not a good wage. Agencies should help represent candidates properly. If a client wants the utter luxury of a 24hr nanny to fully raise their children should tell them what the cost should be! |
| I WORK 60 HOURS A WEEK AND MAKE 85,000 YEAR.. |
I'm a 24/5 nanny and get 16$ an hour, so just shy of 100k. I'm in the Mid East coast, and while the money is great, I miss my life terribly
|
Well, for a max of how many hours? |
|
I have the great pleasure of being a 24/5 nanny in NYC, and have the honor of giving up my personal life for $85,000 a year. And no, they do not pay for my apartment on the weekends. Kill me now, I love the kid!
Yes I heard this position should pay $120+. |
| Nanny in LA, I work 12hrs a day, 5 days a week and earn $348/day. You are underpaid 24hr nanny! |
I agree. |
Hint, your weekend only counterpart has a much better deal. Sucks for you. |
