I would not be ok with a new driver driving my child. If you are not interested in conversation, stop being so friendly and taper it off. Or, if it is that bad, report him.

I'm not a new driver. I've been driving for 3 years. My record is clean. I have driven the kids before while following the rules. If you are interested just google drivers graduate liecence in BC. Not going to explain it on here but thanks for your helpful advice.

I ignored te driver today and chatted with the tots and brought a book to read to them. Worked grat!

Just make a comment that you thought someone, who was paid to work around people in public all day, would be less rude.
