Also would pass on this, not because of the rate but lack of sick days and 2 holidays?? Seriously? That doesn't even include the major holidays. How is nanny supposed to choose between Christmas, New Years and thanksgiving, all family oriented holidays. You're offering an average rate, with below average benefits. You will get below average nannies hoping to make more money, and will leave for a better offer after gaining a little experience. |

I'm an MB and a longtime happy employer of a nanny. I think the pay is fine but the benefits are stingy. We offered (and I think most people offer) two weeks' vacation, a week of sick leave, all holidays the parents have off. Plus we pay for any extra days when our nanny isn't needed. So if we take a long weekend away, of course we pay the nanny for the day(s) she isn't working. |
