Really? |
OP describes a symptom of a bad situation. It's SO off the wall that it's almost impossible to imagine that everything else is "perfect". |
Hmmm...maybe they think you are running the washing machine too much and they are trying to give you an economic incentive to cut back. If you did 4 loads and you are doing the children's laundry everyday (why??) then that's 11 loads in one week. This is bad for the environment and wasteful/expensive.Unless Norovirus hit the house or you are watching 8 kids doing the kid's laundry everyday is way too much. Its also kind of strange for a single adult to need to do 4 loads in a week and they may not realize that this is not what you normally do. They have may have just recently bought the detergent and now just one week after you have arrived they need to replace it. If they never went through this much before then they may have just thought it was you and charged you half or some percentage of the bottle. |
Hummm... And some of us are from Mars.
Let's be for real here, pp. |
I worked in a house where 8 kids lived now ten. They do about 3 loads a day. That's if no one has accidents. More if so.
I think charging you for laundry detergent is outrageous. Talk to them. By the way I do think its illegal to withhold pay. |
9:38 is right, OP. What they did was illegal. Tell them to pay up. |
The sheets were a one time thing, and I did ask permission. There are three children, including an infant with acid reflex and a child in the midst of potty training. |
Permission? Really? Op has got to be a fake. |
OMG...please go away. Enough with the "fake" crap. Just because something doesn't make sense to YOU..does not mean it's fake. You are the reason so many people are getting sick of this nanny forum because you throw around the "fake" crap on every page. |
Yes, in the Middle East grown women ask permission to clean their clothes. Not normal behavior here in the US, unless you're a child. |
What's wrong with asking permission? I've been here for a little over a week, I don't want to step on toes. I just asked if it was ok, and they said no problem. |
Pot calling the kettle black http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_pot_calling_the_kettle_black |
They told you, no problem, then charged you? Ok, now your story is conflicting. Which is it? |
PP, maybe they told her no problem BECAUSE they were planning on charging her, she just didn't know it yet..... |
OP, did you ask them why you were charged for the laundry detergent? I'd like to know what their response was. |
