OP, you have your answer. Decide if you are a housekeeper OR a nanny. Professional high end nannies (just using some terms often mentioned here) do not vacuum, wash windows and do adult laundry on a regular basis. They DO wash kid's clothes, keep play areas neat, help out in the kitchen, prepare homemade baby food if required, etc, pretty much everything that is directly childcare related. I'm very glad that some of the PPs have found people that are willing to transition from sitter to housekeeper and that's all well and good for them. I have been a professional childcare provider for over twenty years in various capacities and I have never been requested to or agreed to perform general housecleaning duties. None of my cohorts have either. The parents I work for employ a separate cleaning service as they wish me to focus on the care of their children which is my occupation. |
Yes, OP your response is not professional or mature. You accepted a job with 10-15 hours of housekeeping a week. You have no grounds for being upset that your employers expect you to perform the work you are paid for. |
When you accepted the 15 hours of pay you became a housekeeper. Why would you expect to get paid and it do the work? |
