If they don't have the energy or physical ability to care for your toddlers, that's important. If they want to bring their child to work, they're necessarily distracted from the task for which they were hired. (which, btw, why is that ever considered ok in the nanny community?)

For smart parents (and nannies!), the primary task is to help raise the child in the best possible way.

Only the dumb ones think that means complete hovering over the child every. single. second.

Nannies seem to forget that they are also interviewing prospective employee and you can, and should, ask about criminal and credit records. You shoukd also ask for reference from prior nannies and if you are their first nanny, ask for a reference from their employer. Protect yourself because you have a right and need to know about them as much as they have a right to know about you. There are a lot of crazy people in this world

You seem to advocate for this on every thread where it is even remotely connected. Tell us, how has this gone for you? How many families have provided you with the requested information? And how many have simply never contacted you again?

You have a right know about your employer. Just as you would google/investigate any company you may work for. An ethical employer should offer up this information and encourage the prospective nanny to ask questions.

There ARE a lot of weirdos out there, and we see a lot of them on this board. What are you hiding, PP?

Republicans have been doing everything they can for four decades to harm workers and enrich billionaires. And then they lie about it on rightwing media. If Republicans actually wanted to help workers (they don't) then we'd have better laws for nannies and other domestic workers. Just keep in mind the problem isn't the lawyer family in DC making $300k a year. The problem is the billionaire who owns Fox News and makes 100 times that.

Wow. You’re a hateful liar. I’ve have quite a employers, and the Liberal ones took advantage of me the worst.

They are the most hypocritical, anyway. They think of and treat domestic workers as inferior, and they can't tolerate anyone with a viewpoint different from their own. Can you imagine how that hideous Clinton woman treats her domestic workers??
