Not Whole Foods. They were a disaster organizationally last year. Food is okay. |
Just a different perspective (though I'm in CT so not sure if you're talking about a specific one?). My father was very sick last year so we had to do a last minute change of plans and just ordered everything from Whole Foods. It wasn't the most amazing food but I have to say they were so incredibly organized. We ordered way too much food but we came in, gave our name, waited for a bit, and they loaded up our cart with everything we needed/clear instructions. Keep in mind you do have to do some cooking (kind of more than we originally thought) so it's still lots of pots and pans. But it was a lifesaver to us last year when we were in and out of the hospital and trying to give the kids some semblance of a normal thanksgiving. And pretty good too. All that being said, I'm sure Balducci's is wonderful as well. |
Not Whole Foods. |
I have done both and much prefer Balducci's. I've ordered from Balducci's for the last 4 or 5 years now, and have really liked the food. |
WF is terrible. |
Balduccis for sure. |
Balducci's if you can afford it. WF is so bad at Tgiving. |
Do you live near a Wegmans? They sell a whole turkey that’s fully cooked and carved and arranged attractively in a disposable pan. You slowly reheat and baste it, and surprisingly, it isn’t dry. No mess, no work, no wondering if the turkey is cooked enough. Their gravy and sides are good too. I love their butternut squash with red onion, spinach and cranberries, roasted in their seasoned basting oil. It’s a perfect Thanksgiving side dish: colorful, seasonal, delicious yet healthy. |
Do you want to serve frozen turkey after following their instructions to a tee? Do you like strings beans to be as tough as rope beans? Love, gummy, pasty mashed potatoes? Whole Foods all the way!! |
We switched from WF to Balduccis - Balduccis food is so much better and better organized. |
Ridgewells in Bethesda is even better than Balduccis. Only negative is that you have to pick up everything the day before Thanksgiving. |
We had a very good experience with Balducci's last year for Christmas. A different occasion but probably similar to Thanksgiving in terms of product. We had a family emergency and couldn't do our usual deal so we used Balducci's for probably 70% of what we needed, mostly sides but including a roasted turkey. Everything was ready when my husband went to get it. The food items were well-packaged with good instructions. The foods were delicious. It worked out very well. Hopefully we won't have to do it again but it was a great experience for us. |
WF 10-12 pound fresh, organic, grass fed, etc., thanksgiving turkey cooks fast and is absolutely delicious. Bezos changed WF for better (pricewise) and worse (selection and availability). |
100% Balduccci's
Do not support Bezos, and the food is better! |
