I'm not this PP, but something like this happened at my firm's holiday party a few years back. Our receptionist and her husband got in an argument that got really loud. He was drunk. He ended up punching her in the face and giving her a black eye and had to be pulled off of her. The police were called. She quit soon after. Spouses have been banned from alll holiday parties and functions since then.
Wow. That seems like an over-reaction.
Most spouses would celebrate at such a ban. Nothing good ever comes from work holiday parties!

Um, are you in DC? I wonder if you work at DH's firm...spouses are banned from their holiday party because of some unspecified drama that occurred.
