Most spouses would celebrate at such a ban. Nothing good ever comes from work holiday parties!

I'm the PP who posted the receptionist being punched in the face at the holiday party. My DS was indeed ecstatic that he didn't have to accompany me to my work holiday parties anymore!

My law firm doesn't allow spouses at the party either. Don't know why. I can't believe OP did this at the workplace. Do you not know that this could severely damage his career? Might negate any future financial issues you need to discuss.

OP intentionally did this in public to humiliate her husband in public. If the genders were reversed her husband would be IN JAIL.

He clearly despises her, otherwise he would have tried to intervene when security began to escort his wife away. I'm not sure I blame him. Plus, you've now given him ample witnesses to your unstable and possibly abusive behavior, which will come in handy for him in a divorce.

OP, get into therapy ASAP and commit yourself to learning how to handle your emotions in non-abusive ways.

I had a GF like this once; the constant threat of making a scene was a way of controlling me, it was awful. Damn near ruined a good friend's wedding. OP needs therapy to learn how to manage her emotions in public and how to interact respectfully with her husband.

Um, are you in DC? I wonder if you work at DH's firm...spouses are banned from their holiday party because of some unspecified drama that occurred.
