Orrr you could grow up a bit and accept that you don't call the shots and do not get to "request" a venue change for a group event because your animals are not allowed to attend lol. Some of these responses are wild (but not terribly surprising from dog people).

OP does not have to justify her decision to anyone. “I don’t want dogs at my thanksgiving” is 100% acceptable. Could be because of her new house, could be because she’s allergic, could be because she’s had bad experiences with dogs, or just because she doesn’t want to have them there. Nothing to “get over”, sweetie.
