Orrr you could grow up a bit and accept that you don't call the shots and do not get to "request" a venue change for a group event because your animals are not allowed to attend lol. Some of these responses are wild (but not terribly surprising from dog people).

Stop it. Plenty people have posted that they have dogs but don't think OP should allow dogs. Non-dog people are the absolute worst. (See how that works?)

We have a dog. I love my dog. I'm not bringing my dog to Thanksgiving. I am bringing my kids, though, so sorry about that in advance.

OP does not have to justify her decision to anyone. “I don’t want dogs at my thanksgiving” is 100% acceptable. Could be because of her new house, could be because she’s allergic, could be because she’s had bad experiences with dogs, or just because she doesn’t want to have them there. Nothing to “get over”, sweetie.

I’m not allowed to bring my shedding dog to my parents’ house because my sister (who doesn’t live with them) is allergic. It is what it is. You can’t demand to use the property of others as you wish all the time.
