The idiot posters who always act surprised or annoyed that single/childfree people post on DCUM.

It’s like...do you even know how the internet works?

The “what are you doing on a mommy website if you don’t have kids?” posters on a thread about kitchen counters, or ETFs, or the Virginia governor’s race? Hate. I report those and Jeff deletes them.


Jeff deletes posters? Not the posts? Like.. he makes the phone call?.. run for the hills!!!!

In this same vein, the posters who are shocked (SHOCKED) that people not living in DMV post here. Much of what is posted here is not DC specific and is really applicable anywhere.


Those posts usually come after some wanker doesn’t disclose that he’s from BFE flyover and is shocked (SHOCKED) that _____ costs $X. Several posts later we discover he has zero fcking clue.

You phrased this so well. That's exactly what they are doing, and it's awful. You can always see them coming, but many OPs are quick to provide clarification because they are focused on getting help with something and don't realize they are being set up. It really derails conversation.

There is such a divide on this board between people who come here to share information in a mutually helpful way and the people who clearly use it as an outlet for their emotional problems. It's a shame there's no way to filter people out for this.


We need to appoint a DCUM Pitbull to stand guard as stalwart protector, or just a display of potential threat if things go awry. DCUM Grammar Police can be equipped with a badge and a red laser pointer. They can both wear matching burgundy vests.
