Kids can still get into multiple schools.
Not this year. They will be reviewed by the central office. This is the first year.
Oh. What does this mean? Can kids get acceptance to only one program rather than multiple programs like previous years?
That means MCPS will make sure the magnet programs have appropriate mix of students. Not solely based on academic achievement. For Asian/white kids, admission will be much more competitive because slots are taken by other less qualified students.

There was a question during / prior the test to which programs a kid applied?

I think not. Not according to some actual posts from last year with actual results. But whatever..

Whatever... Close enough, I have the letter in front of me. Median at poolesville for admitted students on the math was 1 wrong for Global ecology and 2 wrong for SMACS

The only help I gave DD on the test was to remind her not to leak anywhere in the essay her Asian heritage. And she rolled her eyes like I was so ignorant thinking she didn't know that already. Pretty funny, huh?
That was a smart move!! Otherwise she would have written, in 5 paragraphs, that because she is Asian she's been going to prep classes every single weekend since she was 3 and therefore deserves to be in a magnet program.
You sound dumb. Are you sure you're actually Asian?![]()

Not funny or likely true.
