It’s my post, so I will set the rules. It can be someone you’ve been in reasonable proximity to, so planes count.

Was it kisco coach diner? I’m so sad it closed. I grew up in Mt. kisco, long before the Clintons ever arrived, and the diner reference made me nostalgic.



It was Chappaqua Restaurant & Cafe. It looks like it’s since closed (I lived there in the late 90s/early 00s). My mom had just picked me up from middle school (Bell MS) and we saw him. She gave me the NYTimes that was in our car and I ran out and got his autograph. He was dressed in all denim and had a gaggle of middle-aged women following him. It was pretty hilarious.


The mention of the Kisco diner reminded me that it was on the steps that I said “have a good day” to Ron Howard and as he was leaving. I understand he ate there more than a few times- maybe he lived nearby?

When George Stephanopoulos lived in Georgetown I used to see him out and about with the stroller. There was one morning that I remember seeing him at Marvelous Market and he looked like he had been up all night with a crying baby.

I sat in front of John Thompson on a flight from LA to DC.
I sat across from Andre the Giant on another flight.

I was concerned for John Thompson was going to be riding coach as he had not boarded yet when I did and I thought he might be flying coach. Andre was on the plane before I boarded.

He is very nice. Sometimes when he was in town he used to come into a coffee shop I go to. I haven't seen him there in maybe 5 years though. He was always very low key and most people didn't recognize him.

Barack Obama is literally the most famous person in the world. All modern age US presidents are, but Obama is also enormously popular, especially abroad.

Barack Obama is literally the most famous person in the world. All modern age US presidents are, but Obama is also enormously popular, especially abroad.
