s/o What Celebrity Are You Dying to Meet?

Not sure who I'd want to meet but I have met:

Phylicia Rashad - the epitome of class. She's just like Claire Huxtable in real life

?uestlove - very introverted. Can seem standoffish, but he's really just shy

Prince - relatively quiet and reserved. Likes to just "observe" and people watch

Barack Obama - high level of swag

I’d really love to meet Monica Lewinsky. I am a few years younger than her and I’d want to tell her how much watching her get attacked was bad for me as a girl and how much it means to me to see her try to fight against that culture.

She's been in the news the last few years, now that it's unacceptable to bully people, and she's come across as super insightful and well-spoken. I think she was really just totally in over her head with the whole Clinton thing. Not even sure why she was "friends" with Linda Tripp.

At the time, the Clintons were THE power couple and they very much threw Lewinsky under the bus trying to protect Bill's reputation. The whole thing was very sordid and quite unfortunate. Lewinsky has really moved on and grown from an experience that probably would have destroyed most people. She is very well spoken and I'll bet there is dirt that she has yet to share.

I kind of feel bad for her because she doesn't seem to be able to get a regular job. Is she a motivational speaker? When you're an "activist" how do you get health insurance?

I'm sure her family takes care of her. What do you care?

I'd say it's about 75% curiousity and 25% concern.

+1

I've met Conan. He's fun, sure. The 2010 pity party tour really soured me on him, though.

I’ve loved Conan on all his shows, but I watched a documentary about him a few years ago—Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop— and, unedited, I
found him so incredibly annoying. It was really kind of disappointing. I have a feeling most celebrities would be a huge letdown in real life.

I did meet Oprah once. I wrote a book several years ago and did the talk show circuit to promote it. She was the only host to actively avoid her guests. All the other hosts made a point of coming back to the green room to meet guests and make them feel welcome and comfortable. She ordered an assistant to "hurry up and shut" her door as the guests filed by on the way to the studio. Perhaps she's emotionally intelligent, but she's all business and not as warm as she presents herself to be.

She’s OPRAH WINFREY!!!!!!!

DP. Her family is loaded. That's how she got that unfortunate White House internship to begin with.
I remember reading a memoir written by Bernie Madoff's nephew who developed leukemia and eventually died from it, before the Madoff scandal even broke out. He mentioned meeting Monika Lewinsky and her complaining that no good Jewish boy will marry her now that the shit has hit the fan.
That was in early 00's. And she's still single to this day.

Why isn't there a crying emoji? That's so touching.

It's dusty in my office right now. Very dusty. Allergies.

Yes, here too, so much dust. Thanks for posting the link, PP. That's a lovely story.

So great.

I am still thinking about this article. Charles is a great person.
