When I go to my reunions with a mixed age crowd, we’re all wearing the same stuff from Talbots, Brooks Brothers, or other established location with nice trousers, skirts, or turtlenecks and scarves, sweaters we’ve had for 20 years, under our Barbour jackets. There’s also surprisingly little hair dye.

Not op, She is classic old money, and i tried to explore her recs but i found it is such a limited, range, most of it dowdy for a modern professional wardrobe, which is unfortunate. I wanted to like her but detected little warmth in her personality and little interest in her restricted clothes. No fun.


Muffy is not classic old money, but she poses as such, living off her husband having gone to Yale or similar. There was a hilarious thread in off topic in which a DCUM Google sleuth exploded the myths. It got deleted because Muffy's husband complained. So the only remnant we have is this thread in website feedback:

I've never heard of a single brand mentioned in this thread, I must live under a rock or something. I googled a few of them (Tuckernuck, Ann Mashburn) and they all look awful. People are actually dropping money on this stuff?

What do you mean by preppy exactly? Is it how rich people dress? I'm guessing people with real money just shop on Net-a-porter!

Correct. He's uneducated and from a LMC background, but he has been able to market himself otherwise and has done well for himself.

Their stuff is made in the US, correct? Not many places do anymore, so props for that.


It's a mishmash. They started with making stuff in the US, then moved to foreign materials and US labor, and now it's a mix between some US goods and a lot of imports. A few bracelets I clicked on said made in USA but every dress said imported.

This. She highlights brands that are actually good quality, not just faux-preppy fast fashion.


She is a blogger paid to advirtise items- just like the rest of bloggers. She features crap sometimes too if companies pay her enough. She once did a post advertising a boxy purse with a rooster printed on it. I'm sure she promptly threw it in the garbage after her right up. I also bought she is wearing faux pearls which she advertises for on the regular.

She has a couple good unisex sweater recs but that is it. I can't see many women wanting a men's British hunting coat or khaki pants
