It was 9.5 years between my husband's affair and him moving out two months ago. OP, I'm glad that you got where you needed to go much sooner than me. I'd like to believe that couples can reconcile after an affair, but that sense of deep safety and relaxation never returned. Mine didn't do the work and had another (he claims "only" emotional) affair. I'm reading Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents and it's really eye-opening how much the immature parent describes him. Now I'm focusing on helping my kids process and avoid life-long trauma.
