So, who would you put in Langley all these years? Herndon's boundary is pretty compact and includes the whole Town of Herndon. Would you split up the Town of Herndon?
I would keep all current Langley neighborhoods in Langley and consult McLean neighborhoods on their willingness to transfer to Langley.
Herndon is full.
+1
This is what these silly people refuse to acknowledge. Herndon is full. There is no space for more kids. So obviously, no one will be moving there - including currently zoned Langley kids. The rabid “Herndon mom” needs to give it a rest.

They do not want their kids at a school with poor Hispanic kids, whether it’s their kids moving to Herndon or Herndon kids moving to Langley. Their prejudice was so unfiltered that it embarrassed other Langley parents. They believe they have earned the right to live entirely apart from poorer people.
If you have plenty of money and are well educated, they do not care about race.
Is that racism or is that practicality, given how many resources are taken away to pander to the Hispanic illegal base? Is it wrong to not want your kids going to school with gangs?
“Pander to Hispanic illegal base”??? That is the most ridiculous statement. People who are here illegally are at the bottom of the ladder when it comes to rights. No one is “pandering” to them, especially considering their illegal status makes them ineligible to vote.

There was an angry Herndon parent on another thread that had all sorts of plans to send very poor Herndon kids to Langley. And, with the SB, who knows?
FWIW, Strauss made it quite clear in one of those videos that she would enjoy seeing Langley kids sent to Herndon. Not in those words--but, in her snarky manner. Almost gleeful at the idea.
Out of character considering her rep for "protecting" Langley and McLean boundaries.
More likely just playing games. I for one have never heard of this "warning" to Langley, and attempts to have her point to where and when she issued this "warning" were? I hear, deflected.
A new high school anywhere would obviously mean new boundaries, so if that is what she meant it should be easy enough to give an approximate date and place. Or places and dates.

FCPS has been telling people this for years. It’s not like she made it up for the first time in that work session. If a new high school gets built in western Fairfax, the boundaries will change.
Did you want tears rolling down her eyes? It is beyond pathetic how some Langley people and others can’t move on.

Add to that the disgruntled, resentful Herndon mom(s) who keep insisting, gleefully, that Great Falls will be rezoned to Herndon, or Herndon kids bused to Langley, and it’s not at all surprising there was a huge backlash.

She's desperate to get the Hispanics out of Herndon and get Langley in. She presented fifty ways to Sunday to redistrict and get rich kids in and poor kids out.
I had no idea there was even a discussion about a problem with Herndon High before coming to this forum.

Seriously.
No one I knew ever talked badly about Herndon high, or discussed it at all.

That Herndon thread had more than 60 pages. One or two Herndon boosters kept repeating themselves and asked for the boundary change for the sake of equity.
