Planet Aid is a creepy organization and not bc they take underwear.

They are? Why?

Planet Aid is a cult and doesn't actually donate the clothes it collects:

If you have clothing items like underwear or that are just too stained/tatty to donate, find a textile donation bin:

We don't need to put this stuff in a landfill which is were about 80% goes now.

This would never occur to me.

Even new undies with the tag still on or in a pack can't be donated at most Salvation Army type places. I worked at a donation center as a sorter and we had to trash those items.

If they really are new, please take them to either the homeless shelter or hospital. We had a young girl start volunteering with us who informed us that both of those places are always in desperate need of new underwear. I believe she said that used couldn't be donated due to health reasons, but she'd volunteered in college at a rape crisis center and they learned that most rape victims come into the ER alone and then leave wearing scrubs without undies.

Before I moved here from Africa I used to buy used underwear all the time! There was this market place that sold only second hand clothes from America. I dont know if the clothes were meant to come as donation and were diverted for someones profit but the important part was the underwear was good quality. Just a quick hand wash with bleach and you were set for a while. Also they were very cheap compared to the brand new ones sold in the stores which would fall apart after a few washes because of the cheap quality. So go ahead, donate your underwear someone somewhere will use them.

I heard from a colleague that the waste transfer center no longer does this, although I have not been over to confirm.

Hi! I am poor, and buy my clothes at thrift stores. I buy clean, good looking bras for $2. I have also purchased spanks type garments but never actual underwear for myself.

However, yes, for the kids, I have bought clean, good looking boxer shorts at the thrift store. No of course nothing ratty and not signs of use.

If you're going to reference past epic (?- I wasn't hear 8 years ago) posts you're going to have include a link.

You know what's nice to do, though? Buy underwear on clearance (sometimes $1.00) new...then donate. Always, always a need for children's sizes. I buy multipacks from TJ Maxx for under $3.00 and pass these along to a clothing charity or thrift store.

Also for a while, I was buying same multipacks for DD5 and I'd get the size wrong or DD didn't like the fit, so I'd reseal the pack, write a note (-1, rest never worn, new) and donate.

No. I only donate bras if I've worn them a couple of times and don't like them. If they aren't like new they go in the garbage.
