Hasbro game -- gross

Anonymous
I just bought two Trouble games for birthday parties and one for my DC. I've given these as presents several times before because they are a lot of fun. The one we opened ourselves had an obviously USED die in the bubble. It was dirty!! How disgusting. I opened the other two boxes and the dice also looked used but weren't as dirty; I might not have noticed if I had only opened them, but the one in the first box looked like it had been used in about a thousand back alley crap shoots. This is really revolting!! I checked the box and it says, MADE IN USA WITH DIE MADE IN CHINA. Has anyone else experienced something like this with Hasbro games? They make a lot of the classics.

Just wash it off and stick it back in the bubble. What's the big deal? It may not have been used. It could have gotten caught in machinery or gotten dirty in some other manner.

The "bubble" is a permenent part of the game board. It doesn't open up. THe die has not gotten dirty in a machine. It looks like a used die -- worn down in some areas, dirty in others. I don't think I should have to wash a new toy from a reputable company.

So take it back to the store. Big deal. geesh.

You don't think it's a big deal that Hasbro is using used dice in a new game for kids? It's gross.

I doubt Hasbro is putting used dice in their games. You probably got a bad set/batch. Go to hasbro.com and send them a complaint or call them. They can help you, we can't. They may even compensate you for your trouble.

Another poster here: I think it is revolting because it is supposed to be new. I would feel scammed. That said, I don't think it's gross at all.

Ew!! (I'm the OP again.) I can't imagine that the die was used by school kids who always wash their hands before play. I'm guessing it was used by adults, and by the looks of it, a lot of them. Eww!!!

"Revolting" ..."Disgusting"

Good God, Drama Queens, get over it...There are so many things that are worse than having some dirty dice.

Maybe someone touched them after clipping their toe nails in the kitchen.

I can't think of too many positive associations with dirty, used dice-- but anyway....What do you all think about letting kids win? I am still bending over backwards to let my 5 year old win and I'm not sure if I should be, but can't help it. How do you play games with your small kids?

If you can devote so much outrage to this issue then you either have very little to worry about in your life or you are a little bonkers.

I really don't see "so much outrage" here. What I see is someone who bought a new product in good faith (some for gifts to children) and received something other that what she paid for. I'd be pissed too. If your kid got a gift from someone and it was obviously used and dirty you might have some thoughts about the giver. This is a valid complaint, why so much animosity everyone?

Um..If I got a gift like this from someone, Id be able to see that the box was sealed and unopened when they gave it to me. So, I highly doubt I would judge the person who gave it to me.

Sure you would. Right after your KID opened it (since it's a gift for a KID) and ripped off the packaging so you couldn't tell if it was intact or not. The amount of harsh judgement we see on this board would just morph into understanding and benefit of the doubt? I'd be hard pressed to rely on that if I were the OP. Her point was what a shame it is that a name company like Hasbro put out such a shoddy product, not that she is so freaking out that she can't see straight like the PPs were characterizing her.
