DeSantis is a smart politician. He's realized that primary voters do not care about businesses or the establishment. If anything, being the choice of business interests hurts.
yeah, yeah, totally - he's totally looking to alienate businesses. that's 40 dimensional chess, is what that is! he meant to drop in the polls, too. a choice, i'm telling you! a big fat choice!Anonymous wrote:https://twitter.com/votetimscott/status/1646109597214679043?s=46&t=RXug2E3wPuDEf8vlgSC9SQ
Tim Scott running

Why couldn’t you just ignore him? Why would you do this to the country?
Really? How does that work exactly?
He wins the Republican primarys and it's Democrats fault?

I could see a wealthy moderate like Romney running. Someone who can self-fund and make their case.
There's a significant contingent of Republicans who don't want Trump to run again. Focus groups have teased out that sentiment. These people will never vote for a Democrat, but they want someone less bombastic and more disciplined.
Romney has more of a chance of winning the Democrat primary. You might as well say Liz Cheney should run. A basic calculation when determining who will win the Republican nomination is to see who Bill Kristol and rich white Republicans would like, take them out of the field, and then see who’s left.

He has his own thread.

He's probably not being discussed here because he has no chance of being the nominee.
PP you responded to - why would he have no chance? As I mentioned, he's off-the-charts brilliant and not in an egghead, academic way.
I've only donated to a political candidate once in my life: a few thousand dollars to Romney in 2012 because of how much I hated Obama (I was broke in 2008 and couldn't donate then). Of course, I have come to regret that donation given how Romney has transformed over the years. But Vivek might well elicit my second donation.
