4 years old. I don't remember my mom at all and I've never felt close to my dad or step mom. Have always called her by name and not mom..

My father married his AP and it was horrible for everyone. I was only 10 at the time, but my parents had a very messy divorce and my dad married AP 2 months after it was final. My grandparents (dad's parents) were very close to my mom because my mom and dad had been together since they were 13. They actually disowned my dad for a couple years. My step mom was a horrible, psycho bitch too who made it her life's mission to make sure my sister and I suffered. I won't go into details, but my sister and I ended up living with my mom most of the time and only having visit with my dad when he was alone (which AP didn't like so my dad had to lie to her about it).

My step mom is 15 years younger than my dad and was his secretary. So cliche. She was also from a very low class family and even her own siblings used to call her out on the fact that she just married for money and acts too good for them now.

Now, 25 years later, we all just laugh at her behind her back. She and my dad have 2 kids of their own and pretty much live their own life like we never existed.

I know someone who did this, close family friend. He went on to have multiple children with the woman and they're still together 20 years later. It was weird at first but now that they're still together this long after, I think people just figure that it was obviously meant to be like this.
