But you have to admire the chutzpah of the Langley folks telling you that a new high school is years away, while signaling that they will continue to do everything in their power over the coming years to disrupt the normal processes - whether it's building a new school in western Fairfax or rebalancing elsewhere - to make sure they get their way.
Wrong. i posted that it is years away. That is true. I am a western Fairfax parent, not Langley. It bothers me that Herndon parent seems to want the new school in Herndon so it can justify getting Great Falls into Herndon.
Herndon does not need the relief. Chantilly and Centreville need the relief. It does not make sense to play dominos when those are the schools that are in need.
But, as I said, it is years away.
I assume you are speaking of those in the Oak Hill zip code. FWIW, the ones that go to Westfield who are closest to Herndon were rejected by Herndon and South Lakes in the 2008 redistricting. The DTR is a major dividing point.
Lol. I love how they call it "Oak Hill", no ma'am, you live in Herndon.

You may want to factor Chantilly into your rankings. It’s overtaking Oakton and Woodson in things like SATs and now has fewer base school kids going to TJ, which keeps the talent in house. [/quote
Why do you care what pp thinks of Chantilly?

Even the most mediocre private school in this area is infinitely better than the best FCPS school.

FCPS should not be swayed from making any decision based on personal real estate investments, which we all know is what the GF community primarily cares about. The fact that the FCPS school board is in fact influenced by these factors is a shame.
No, we care about our kids going to schools where they won't be ignored because they already speak English.
WTF?!
I met someone who pulled their child for this very reason. But, that was elementary school.
It happens at my kids' elementary school all the time. There are several local mediocre private schools laughing all the way to the bank.

How in the world will they fit a high school next to Hutchison ES? There's not enough room, even if they demolished the elementary school.
Hutchison site is not a leading candidate anymore. Too small. Too far from Chantilly/Centreville, Too close to Herndon High, etc. From the latest CIP and the meeting, it seems like they are redoing the site selection.
