He clearly hasn’t done anything to stand up for having them open, not publicly or effectively. That’s enough.

If DCPS principals are making $150 or more there is a residency requirement, no reason there shouldn't be a similar requirement for sending your kids to public schools. What this guy is doing, though is just gross.

Ahh the "It's always been this way" argument, shrug your shoulders and deal with it. As PP alluded to, he is a HYPOCRITE. Bowser should not have appointed him - she got all starry eyed with the BS illusion that somehow his pedigree from Mckinsey and where ever he went to college makes him somehow smarter than everyone else. Such a predictable pattern of privilege putting in the time and moving up in the ranks. Good thing for his kids that his has them on the same track.

I haven't read every post from this thread. How has he publicly supported keeping kids out of school? It's interesting that this thread has put all reopening blame on his shoulders, when the WTU has blocked any reopening plans since the Fall.

Normally I would agree that home and family decisions should not be discussed or considered relevant to a public officials job performance. But this situation is different. He is publicly supporting keeping kids out of school for safety reasons but is sending his own kids to school. It doesn't make sense and it is hypocritical. He's a public servant whose decisions affect many of our lives. So yes, we have a right to question how his own actions affect his decision-making. He clearly thinks in-person learning is okay for his family but not okay for thousands of other DC families.
