You wish. The bubble breathers have been bubbling about a (second) recession since 2013.
D.C. is just exploding. Sorry that sucks for you.
It is going to suck for thousands people, but who cares? You have yours.
How specifically will it suck for thousands of people?
Not everyone is a lawyer or lobbyist. Where are all of the GS-5s, secretaries, cooks, custodians and retail folks supposed to live? West Virginia?
So because some people are poor, we can't have nice things?

PP, I think the news is good for the region, but I actually agree with you re: service industry and middle class. I wish DC would simultaneously invest in more affordable housing, and 3br apartments/condos for families.
Maryland is getting cheaper and cheaper by the day. Just pointing that out -- its bordering DC and the LCOL is perfect for individuals looking for a deal.
I know people who commute in from Baltimore too - which is the definition of cheap.
PP here, where in MD is getting cheaper? I live in DC but very near Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, and Takoma Park--a range of different neighborhoods, but none are getting cheaper.

Dude, I'm a millennial and I worked damned hard for what I have (one home and one rental). I'm sorry you spent all your money on happy hours and nice vacations but with a little foresight maybe you (and others) could get in too.
Screw you. I’m a property owner too, but unlike you and most of your generation, I give a damn about people besides myself. Don’t put yourself up on a pedestal. You are not that special.
You care so much, now's the time to rent your place out at a below market rate. There are so many recent grads who could use the break. Go ahead.
