Pick a specific meeting point rather than just "text me when you get out and I'll come find you." Teach them to ask others for help/directions, and to be smart about choosing who to ask. Teach them to be aware of directional and informational signs, etc.
Because at some point, a kid will drop/lose/not charge/not hear their phone. It is a very useful tool, but it is not a failproof, guaranteed lifeline.
