But what is the incentive for members of Congress — none of whom represent D.C. — to want to do this? You can write the TV ad attacking someone for it in your sleep: "Senator Jones voted to give tax cuts to Beltway fat cats. What did he do to help us here in Nebraska?" We can push all we want, but that won't really matter.
Because they know the ads don’t matter any more. And your votes won’t matter either - “it was rigged!”

Especially since many long term Congressmen eventually buy homes in DC.

I don't think so..I thought their plan is to fire a ton of feds which would probably really hurt the housing market.
But the Republicans increase DOD spending, so maybe no change in Va and decline in Md.
The question was about DC. If you live in VA or MD, you do not live in DC.
