The point is to see if DH does it himself, if he deems it so important. I’m guessing he won’t.
-not OP

But if so, what will you do with the information? Because so far you took his directives, did what he wanted, and now you did even more. So if you prove your point, and I agree that's the likely outcome, then what?

She didn't do what he wanted. He wanted the deck cleared.

Wrong. She did clear it. Go read the thread. It’s so pathetic.

You're right. How disappointing. I'm done with this OP.

How much has it even snowed since yesterday? An coating of an inch or so on a deck might legitimately not be worth shoveling anymore! Although I (DH) would remove that much from the driveway.

So your DH tricked you into shoveling the driveway and sidewalk? Wow, you sure got him!

Exactly. The issue was never about the deck. It’s about a spouse who’s controlling and the other spouse who’s pissed BUT not calling it out. In fact, OP keeps enabling it. Today OP is just playing stupid games, and what’s most shameful is that she’s modeling for her teenage daughter how keep the dysfunctional relationship going. The immaturity is staggering.

Way to go, OP!

I think this is your way of resisting his control, right OP? That's what happens when an OCD and controlling person is in charge of a household; it creates passive-aggressive subordinate family members. It's a relief to leave home and be by yourself or around normal people.

Other realizes it needs to be done and would be less work than asking them to do the sidewalks, cats etc. which op would have had a problem with that too because her real issue is she doesn't like to be asked to do anything

NP. Actually, I think this is a productive (sidewalk and driveway cleared? Great!) and clever way to determine how important a clear deck really is to DH.

That said, I do hope OP will report if DH clears off the deck himself, thereby demonstrating it WAS actually important to him and not make-work for others.

You made a separate thread for this nonsense 3 days later. The problem isn't just your DH. You both seem to be immature aholes.
Sorry for the.kidd.

I’m interested too! Let us know what he says.

Well played, OP.

Yes, now it frees up his time to shovel the deck. Frankly, your DH's orders reminded me of my dad and his to-do lists for my mother and us kids. It made us shun lists when we were older.
