Everyone:
PP is making a joke out of a violent assault on 2 daycare teachers who were beaten and bloodied in front of their toddler daycare class by a DC criminal who tried to rob the teachers:

Bowser is not taking this seriously.
Really, I take it as sarcasm that points out that the DC Government doesn't care and that every man, woman and child is on their own to find ways to protect themselves in DC.
Petit Scholars is a private daycare program. It should be closed since it creates division in the community. Why are only some children worthy of safety?

Cue up the “defund doesn’t mean defund” peanut gallery. They’ll be along shortly to insist this 1) isn’t their fault, and 2) call you racist.
Are you blaming the Mayor because the painters can't spell? Clearly she meant Refund the police, but the literacy rates in DC schools are not goodly.

Everything is harder here. Everything is dingier, tired, corrupt. And I realize we're in our own. 911 is a joke, response times from emergency calls are terrible, traffic enforcement is now just camera tickets, so road rangers rage unencumbered. If you've ever watched DC fire show up at an emergency, it's shocking how slowly they move. And if there's something remotely happening crime-wise, suddenly every cop in a district or quadrant shows up, leaving every other neighborhood open to whatever. Last night there was some sort of arrest of one man at the Safeway at Petworth metro. There were 12 cop cars. This city is a joke.
