Dems spend way too much time catering to the corporate crowd. We can definitely benefit from what DeSantis is doing and won't be blamed for starting it.
WTF?
The first PP and the second PP's interaction reveal the cognitive dissonance among Democrats. This is what happens when you have no rational basis for your ideology, just "feelings".
oh, this is rich.
The R party has embraced conspiracy theorist, Q followers as political leaders; continue to hold on to the stop the steal rallies two years later, and still want their Insurrectionist in chief to run in 2024; exercise cancel culture on private businesses using their political clout, even as they blast private businesses for exercising their own cancel culture using their social clout.
But sure, it's the Dems who seem to be irrational ones .![]()

Go woke and go broke is going to be DeSantis' presidential rallying cry.
My guess is it is more in retaliation for their completely hypocritical position. If they had this stance for years and were consistent with their their support for the gay community, my guess is this wouldn't be happening. However, they continue to do business with and even expand business into countries that have banned gay marriage and even condemn gays to death, so they are really just going after DeSantis, who in turn is fighting back.
The matter is not complicated. DeSantis is not an idiot - you may not like him but he is not an idiot. DeSantis would not have gone after Disney if they just did the standard corporate dance about LGTBQIA2S+ and threw in some references to equity and stakeholder capitalism. Disney vowed to work towards repealing the Parental Rights in Education law, which has broad popular support among FL residents. If Disney wants to dabble in politics, well, DeSantis is showing them what that means.

Yes, the burden is one billion dollars, around $2200 for each and every Orange and Osceola County resident.
Lots of discussion already here:

Plus the surrounding localities would have to pick up the of cost of first responder services, utility infrastructure, etc. that Disney currently pays for.
The surrounding localities would receive the increased tax revenue that Disney would have to pay for losing the many tax breaks they currently receive.
