Easier said than done, PP! He was in a terrible situation. I think he did do the right thing by leaving him in a "safe place" to have the opportunity to be adopted by a good family who could provide for him. William was selfless, IMO.

Let's not forget that he tried to get Randall back once he got his life together.

Which is probably the most selfish thing you can do to a kid...hi, I'm a total stranger, but I want to rip you away from the only family you've known to be your dad.

He didn't try to get Randall back but asked to meet him and visit with him.

Anyway- the ending tonight was something. I'm glad that Rebecca and Jack weren't on the outs when it happened.

We don't know for sure they were together. The fire was a few months later. Also, it looks like he died in a house fire but how and what why does Kate blame herself? She said last season it was her fault so she blames herself for some reason. Did she start the fire? Did her Dad go into the house to try to save her? All we know if Jack died probably in a fire. Don't know if he was sober, drunk, etc.
