Figured i'd start a new thread since the other is so long! I almost made it through the episode without crying and then that ending. Ugh. |
So Jack died in a house fire?? They give us just enough to have even more questions.
This show is so good but I hope they don't focus so much on keeping parts of the past secret and how to reveal them that the story suffers. |
Im confused too. at the end the kids were crying, did they already know their dad died? House fire? |
Could it have been faulty wiring? Didn't he finish part of the house himself? Maybe Kate helped him and that's why she thinks it was her fault? |
I wondered if being drunk was going to have anything to do with the house fire. Does Jack smoke? |
There's a small chance they're crying about the house burning down, but Jack is still alive.... However, I think the mom had his possessions on the seat next to her? Although wouldn't they have been more damaged from a fire? |
I think they are drying because jack is dead. Earlier in the episode Kevin talked about how Kate was the one who told him their father had died and in the end she is saying how she has to find him and be the one to tell him. I do agree about the personal items. Wouldn't they be in worse shape if they had been through a fire. Although i guess smoke inhalation is more likely to kill than the fir so maybe he didn't get burned/totally die in the fire. maybe Kate blames herself because he went back in for her or her dog? |
was there not a preview for next week's episode? |
I love the show but at the same time feel so manipulated at how they are dragging out the mystery of how Jack died. Hint by hint by (sometimes misleading) hint. I hope it's not going to take the whole season to get the full story. |
+1 It is really starting to take away from the show. |
I have a feeling that they will reveal a lot more in the next episode. At least I hope so. I just wonder how long they can keep Jack's story going now that they have shown how he died. How many flashbacks can they have to the years when they were under 17?
But they have kept William's character "alive" so they seem to know how to do it. I was so glad to hear his voice open up the show last night. |
I assumed this. I was thinking it might have had to do with his drinking (fell asleep/passed out with a cigarette?) but actually given the scene where it was clear he was ready to deal with the drinking problem, I think he'll be on the straight and narrow. |
Am I the only one who didn't think last night's episode was as good as last season? More fake emotions and more wooden dialogue. |
I actually think it might be Kate smoking a cigarette that leads to the house fire. And that's why Beth and Randall fake smoked after the adoption agency visit. But I also think the fire might come after Jack's death. His belongings on the seat in the car next to Rebecca were pristine. So maybe he dies another way, and then Rebecca goes home and sees the house gone from the fire? |
that would just be crazy. husband dies and house burned down in the same night, but unrelated events.... |
