Jumping on this to give MPP another recent review. Our daughter has been there for 5 years and will be going into kindergarten in the fall. We couldn't be happier with the experience. I swear they taught her everything. From eating with utensils, using a cup and potty training as a toddler, to now being able to read/write and do basic math. Highly recommend.

Giving more positive feedback from a mom. We enrolled our daughter at MPP for a year and a half before moving out of the DMV. We miss it so much. Our daycare before MPP and the one we use now were not as great an experience as what we saw at MPP.
They definitely fixed potty training where it was an ongoing, child interest-driven struggle for us. We'd have a month on and then a month off at home. When they confirmed we could collectively take the leap and stop using pull ups as a safety measure, our toddler was on the potty confidently for every bathroom need in two weeks. Following that we had one accident - she had an urgent need on a plane ride and resisted a return to the too loud toilet. I call that one mom's fault.
She loved her teachers so much. We loved how she was picking up Spanish and understanding code meshing - when to use which language based on who does and does not speak it in our family.
She still asks for her old daycare. Beto and team do a wonderful job.

I would also like to second the more recent recommendation about Mis Primeros Pasitos (MPP) daycare in Silver Spring. My son is a pandemic baby who joined MPP after a full year at home surrounded by only his parents and grandparents. We were so worried about his transition to daycare but MPP really went the extra mile to take care of us as parents, as well as our child. I couldn't recommend them enough. I fully agree with the previous poster that them providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks is super helpful - many of the other daycare facilities we toured did not offer this. My son has learned so much since being there and we are beyond grateful for the care he receives on a daily basis. They truly care about the children and go above and beyond to make them feel special and to thrive.

For future reference if anyone is looking for recommendations for Mis Primeros Pasitos, I highly recommend them. My daughter has been going there for over a year and they are wonderful with her. She gets to enjoy all sorts of wonderful activities, like planting fresh vegetables to grow in the garden, watching the butterfly metamorphosis, and lots of various art projects. And they make fresh meals every day which is incredibly helpful because I definitely don't have the time. So the fact that they give her breakfast, lunch, and snacks makes my life a million times easier. I can't speak to how they taste yet since my daughter is only 15months and can't tell me yet, but they look delicious! I realize the original post inquiring is quite old, but I wanted to throw my recommendation out there if anyone sees this post by searching for MPP. Especially since some posters seem so skeptical.

Given the person raving about the daycare responded to a post over a year old is fishy too

Also most of the Yelp reviews also look fake/written by the owner.

This is so clearly written by Mis Primeros Pasitos and NOT a parent. How would a parent know that the food is delicious?

+1. Also make sure there they aren't going to move kids back and forth between the two (I know of a daycare that got busted for doing this).

You may get more responses by posting on the silver spring moms listserv. And you probably know this already but you can find inspection reports on checkccmd.

Researching in-home daycares in Kensington/Wheaton area and looking for intel on Mis Primeros Pasitos. No spots last I checked but reportedly the owner is opening up a second location soon closer to Kensington. New daycares are always a bit of a wild card but it would be convenient and may jive with when we need a spot for our baby. Anyone have experience (good/bad) at the current location?
