Highlander is narrow which works better in parking garages. Third row is tight but even my teens can squeeze into it.

I drove a Nissan Rogue as a rental and really disliked it. Very choppy stiff ride. The interior was extremely utilitarian/basic, though that didn't bother me as much.

The Nissan Rogue looks great! Anybody own one and have thoughts on whether they would recommend it?

I started the similar thread someone linked to. We're still looking, but leaning towards a Nissan Rogue with third row. It was the most fuel efficient, not-too-big, not too expensive car with a third row we could find on the market.

We also love the Mazda 5..so comfy for the 4 of us and fine for an occasional guest. Tons of storage when not using the back row.

Have you tried parking with any of the new technologies?

We had an acura loaner recently and was surprised at how easy it was.

my main car is a minivan and at the time of purchase I looked at measurements of all cars / crossovers / minivans that had a 3 row option and the smallest was the minivan - and not all are equal.

I went onto each companies' site to get the specifications. I am not sure if there is an easier way but I wanted to know how wide the car was (parking in garages in the city) as well as how long it was - once again parking in garages or being able to get out of a parking spot after someone parked behind me.

As someone currently in a minivan - my next will be either the Nissan Quest or Ford Flex.

There was a thread on this last month. Check the archives.

I drive a BMW wagon. No third row. But I had a rental Hyundai Santa Fe last year and had no issues parking it. If you can park a minivan, you could park a Santa Fe. And they come with an optional third row.

You do lose cargo space with the third row though, unless you get a big SUV like a suburban.

I am in the market for a new car. I have 2 kids on car seats and sometimes have family or kids' friends riding with is. Currently have a minivan and I hate it. I don't like driving something so big, it's hard for me. Don't laugh! SUV is out of the question because there is no way I will be able to parallel park it. I tried Mazda 5 and liked it but it always gets negative reviews here. Is here a wagon with third row available on the market that is similar to Mazda 5?
