Audubon preschool/kindergarten half-day camp: My son loved it. Lots of outdoor time; great teachers; creative, age-appropriate activities.

TIC Camp for our 11 yo DS has once again been fabulous! He adores his robotics counselor and can't stop talking about the fun he's having in athletics (especially basketball). He's working on a VEX Robotics project and learning ROBOTC this session (instead of LEGO Mindstorms as he's done in other summers at TIC Camp).

MoCo...Croydon Creek Guppy Camp. Half day. My child had a blast and learned a lot. Staff is incredibly kind and friendly.

+1! I did this "camp" (only 2 hours, parent participation) with my preschool child the week before MoCo got out. It was incredibly fun, very hands-on, very informative.

We've been very happy with Kids After Hours at Flora Singer. They have so many great activities and are really well organized.

We loved Kids After Hours at Rock view ES. $285 per week with a field trip each week, water activity every day, themed weeks, lots of snacks and breakfast every morning. The cost is flat for all hours and they are open from 7-6:30.

Please post info eapecially about half day camps. I feel like these are a needle in a haystack and such a crap shoot.

My rising 2nd grader, age 7, did a Cheerleading Camp through City of Rockville Recreation and loved it. They did a performance the last day. Ran 9-3 but had an aftercare option for 3-6.

Rising 1st grader has been loving Sandy Spring so far.

MoCo Wee Little Farmers camp: my 3 year old and husband loved it. Parent involvement required, but a cheap camp at only $80 for the week. Morning only. They learn about different animals each day, got to feed chickens, give the pigs a shower, and brush the goats, and bottle feed the baby goats.

Also MoCo 1/2 day princess dance camp. My 5yo has never been to a dance camp before and was also bored in this camp. She wasn't disappointed to not be in the performance because she didn't like the dance portion of the camp. But she did come home the first day talking about the performance and we did not find out until later in the week that it was for afternoon or all day kids only. They could have handled that better.

MoCo 1/2 day drawing class for preschoolers.
- would not take this class again. Expectations were not age appropriate. Rec Staff overseeing camps were really helpful and intervened to try to address it mid way through the week but it is still not something I would do again.

MoCo 1/2 day princess dance camp for 5-7 ish ages.
DD hated this camp. Was for kids who had never gone to a dance class before. Very little dance stuff. Mostly fuller stuff. Dd was super bored. Also very unhappy when she found out only on Friday that the "performance" for parents discussed all week was only for kids staying all day. (And nope she was not allowed to come back for just that part of the afternoon.)

I am the one who just started a new thread swearing I would not do a Rec camp again. Disappointing that they are so bad while the Nature Ctr ones we did are so good.

Montgomery County Parks and Rec: Tennis & More Camp

My rising first grader had a blast at this camp. They do tennis plus one other big activity every day. One day it was a field trip to a water park, another day it was ice skating.

I have no idea how much my DC improved at tennis, but we managed an early and easy bedtime every night of camp, so Mission Accomplished!

Please provide reviews and recommendations (or camps to avoid) for 2015. The threads in previous years have helped me out but sometimes worry that the info is dated.

So far, we haven't done any camps, so I don't have any experiences to share yet but will do so as the summer goes on.
