Alvord, Baker & Associates in Rockville and Silver Spring. Don't know if they quite go that young.

No formal diagnosis. We see Dr. Charles Conlon. He had mentioned pragmatic language and social cue issues.

Expressive Therapy offers a 4-5 yr old social skills group. They're in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area

My daughter attends a social skills group run by our neighborhood speech therapy practice. I'm nowhere near Montgomery County, but you could ask some of the speech clinics near you. Most of the kids in the group are 5 or 6.

DS just turned 5yo. We had out Parent Teacher Conference meeting at his pre-school today and the teacher recommended us looking into social skills group, which we agree he needs. She mentioned that DS wants to be involved but does not seem to understand social cues and how to engage other children appropriately. He currently has OT to help with regulation. The OT does not have as much recommendation in terms of social skills group, and it is something I think DS needs the most right now. FWIW, we are not worry about the "academic" component as he is well ahead of the curve in terms of ability to read or do basic math/writing. We do question his pragmatic language skill and ability to connect with people. We have done playdates, but as he gets older, he seems to struggle more socially at school and it gets harder to set a playdate up when he is not "talking" or "playing" with some of the kids at school.

If you have recommendations of social skills group for the 5yo age range in the Montgomery County area, it would be appreciated. We call Ivy Mount but it seems like they only have something set up for 7 or above.
